Alpacaholic Acres

Dills Historic Tavern and Plantation

 (Erected 1794-1819)

We were invited to display our Alpacas and sell Alpaca-related items for their first Fiber and Crafts Fair (NYCHAPS).  You can get a tour of the old tavern and learn about its amazing history.  We have committed for next year to attend (dates will be on our website calendar).  See the Dills Tavern and Maple Shade Barn at: nychaps@northernyorkhistorical.org.

Maple Shade, Dillsburg, PA

NYCHAPS are  renovating the century-old Maple Shade Barn which allows them to hold meetings and events, as well as its collection of artifacts and documents.  Saturday mornings, from Nov thru Dec. 21, crafters, artists, etc. were there providing unique Christmas shopping inside the Maple Shade Barn.   Our Alpacas were onsite on selected Saturdays until Christmas and have products from our farm available (see our website).

Special Thanks

We want to thank and congratulate the following on their purchase of our Alpacas in 2013.  These nine alpacas combined won 2 Judges Choices, 3 Color Championships, 2 Reserve Color Championships, 15 Blue ribbons, 9 second places, 7 third places, and 6 forth place and one 6th place ribbons.

First Annual Cria Day – June 9, 2013

We allow hands-on experience with our Alpacas  - kids hug them while the parents snap pictures. We opened our store, set up an educational and a fleece table display.  2014 date to be posted on our website calendar.

"Small Farm Producing Champion Results."

Our herdsires have won over 15 Championships and 30 Blue Ribbons. Just as impressive, their offspring are proving themselves by winning championships.

Nova’s Avarice (our Bay Black Herdsire): Nine of his offspring have accumulated a Color and Reserve Championship, eleven Blue Ribbons and 19 top five ribbons in only twenty-seven show class entries. The classes were in True Black, Bay Black and Dark Rose Grey.  Judge’s reiterated their comments with nice density, fineness, uniform fleece on a very solid frame.
